Feeling on top of the world (Canyonlands National Park)
I am beyond excited to start this awesome adventure, and there is a lot going through my head as I try to prepare for it. Weirdly, a lot of it is about things that I’m not going to have the ability to do while I’m away at sea.
For example, I keep thinking about how I won’t be driving for 6 months, won’t be able to cook (unless I make some friends in the galley?), won’t be able to go see a movie, won’t be able to watch Netflix (per minute charge for internet, sorry, no), won’t have any privacy or personal space, and won’t see ANY of my family or home friends during the entire contract.
I’m also someone who likes to be super prepared and there are so many questions I still have about this new job that it is hard to be as prepared as I would like.
But regardless of all the “won’ts” I think about, I’m still beyond thrilled to experience new places and people, even if I’m being driven up the wall with anticipation.
Omg and Tex Mex. Oh how I’ll miss good Texas Tex Mex.
It’s all about the abandon, Sofi! It’s like jumping out of a plane: the whole way down you are alone in your incredible experience. Then you tell about it.
