I’m new here, still learning the ropes, so bear with me as take in my new surroundings.
I want to start with a brief introduction into my life; the never settled, always restless, big dreamer that I am. I’ve had the incredible fortune to be a world traveler from a young age. My father is a native of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus who came to the United States for college and the shiny life that America could offer. From only six months old, I’ve been flying to Cyprus to visit my vast, extended, and very much Greek family nearly every three years, less so in the past ten because of rising flight costs, but enough times to feel at home in the foreign country and comfortable on a long distance flight.
At the age of eight, my family had the incredible opportunity to spend a few years in England for my dad’s job (I owe a lot of my wanderlust to him, he’s cool guy), where I started public school for the first time and went on my first few trips without my parents, or even anybody I really knew well. We took advantage of our lucky position and spent time in France, Germany, Belgium, and Scotland and, as they say, it was all downhill from there. After my brief stint in Europe opened my eyes to the idea of travel and how exhilarating it is to solo travel, I’ve been hooked.
Hooked to the “go”, man, I’m telling you.
My goals, big picture wise, are to see as much of the world as possible, and not in the check-it-off-my-list, here’s-a-postcard kind of way. No, I want to experience and learn the cultures of the world.
I am fascinated by people and by what makes people tick. The essence of people is their culture, and the essence of their culture comes from their music, food, religion, traditions, attitudes, ideals, values, and even architecture.
Bring it ALL on.
I am here to share with you my findings, my adventures, my pictures, my successes, and my failures. I hope to inspire at least one person to pursue their travel dreams and open the minds of my readers to the beauty of cultural differences.
Travel is the best education, come learn with me, grow with me.
Welcome. Nice to meet you, tell me about yourself!
